Digital Printing

Polyester films require specialized primers to confer optimal adhesion of digital inks. MacDermid Autotype has two primary ink primers on Autotex and Autoflex films. The original "0" series primer has been formulated for maximum performance with screen-printed solvent-containing inks. The latest "3" series primer has been developed and tested for ink adhesion of the 3 main ink types used in the industry:

  • 3-Series ink primer means that the same film can be used for inkjet prototypes, short run

  • Inkjet and long run screen printed jobs, reducing inventory.

  • Solvent-based, oven-curable screen printing, UV-cured screen printing, and UV-cured digital printing

  • For the HP Indigo process, please select MacDermid Autotype ‘“DP“ specialist primer.
